Winter Droving & Ullswater Droving
25th & 26 OCT 2019
Fire, Music, Masks and Mayhem in Pooley Bridge & Penrith Town Centre.
The two day festival encourages visitors to dress up and 'join the herd' by donning a mask, dressing up as a farmer and enjoying the entertainment.
The Ullswater Droving marks the beginning of the two days of droving celebrations and will take place on Friday 25th October with a special torchlight procession through Pooley Bridge led this year by The Baghdaddies.
On Sat 26th October Penrith is transformed with its busiest market of the year, bustling streets, roaming street performances around every corner, and top quality local, regional and national musical acts across 5 stages. This all leads up to the highlight of the day - a magical fire and lantern procession throughout the town, where thousands of people line the streets to watch the spectacle, finishing with a headline act on the main stage.

The Ullswater Droving is back! This magical event marks the beginning of the two days of droving celebrations and will take place on Friday 25th October with a special torchlight procession through Pooley Bridge.
This year The Baghdaddies’ will arrive by Ullswater Steamers to Pooley Bridge where an awaiting torchlight welcoming party will greet them.
The Baghdaddies' exuberant and rampant brand of world music is an exhilarating cocktail of Balkan melodies, ska and latin grooves and sizzling brass played with furious energy and theatrical humour, making them as unforgettable on stage as they are when performing as wandering brass troubadours. They take themselves incredibly seriously so you don’t have to…
The Baghdaddies will then lead the torch light procession through Pooley Bridge to the field behind the Sun Inn, for a final performance on stage. This year the band will be accompanied by The Wolf animal lantern which was sponsored by Ullswater Steamers in 2017.
