Route 66 North
The ambitious plan, supported by all the local authorities along the way, is designed to promote the region and come up with cultural solutions and ideas that will see social and cultural and economic benefit in places that perhaps feel left out or overlooked. In both east - Teesside and west - the Cumbria coast there are places that have been affected by the decline of old industry, in the places between across the Pennines and Lakes there are places with low population and rural isolation. How do we see creativity and culture playing a part in the future of these places? Can culture provide some leadership in thinking and doing?
In a time of climate change how do we respond to the notion of culture and tourism - what role does it play?
Through early spring 2019 we will be meeting with stakeholders and holding workshops in Copeland, Allerdale, Eden, County Durham and Tees Valley to help us to understand the issues and formulate a plan for future collaborative working.
